The pupils of our school are given the opportunity to voice their opinion and debate through the school council and contribute towards the continuous improvement of the school community.

There are 10 members on the Council.  The members are elected by their peers each term and it is chaired by a Year 6 pupil. Regular meetings are held to discuss a wide range of topics relating to school life including environmental issues, food, drink, sport and fundraising ideas. Once the meeting is over, the chair produces minutes for the reps to feedback to their classes.  The chair will put forward all ideas to the head teacher who will implement the ideas that are feasible.

Ideas from the school council that have been implemented to date include:

  • Activities
  • Fundraising
  • Lunch options
  • Excursions
  • Plans for use of the facilities at school.
